Ohio State Marion holds political forum on campus

The Ohio State University at Marion is pleased to welcome the community and political candidates from all parties to the 2008 Buckeye Political Forum, Thursday, October 16, 7 p.m., in Maynard Hall’s, Guthery Community Room. The forum is a non-partisan platform that offers candidates for city, county, and state elected positions equal time to share their views with their constituency from Marion and surrounding counties.
The Buckeye Political Forum will be moderated by the Editor of The Marion Star, Tom Graser. Candidates in both contested and uncontested races are invited to participate in the forum with the opportunity for an open community platform to discuss their positions in a short concise time sensitive format. Candidates will be given open time with the audience to discuss their platform and agenda. Candidates in contested races will be given a two-minute time frame to address the audience, while those in uncontested races will be give one minute.

The Buckeye Political Forum is open to all candidates from the 26th State Senate District, 82nd and 83rd Ohio Congressional District, the 4th U.S. Congressional District, and those running for offices within Marion County, such as sheriff, county engineer, clerk of courts, prosecutor, treasurer, and county commissioner.
