The Marion Police Department would like all local businesses to be aware of a subject scamming money.

Recently, at least 3 business owners have been approached by a female, approximately 20 years of age, who asks for money. The owners were told this is either to keep her utilities from being shut off or to buy groceries for her children and in each case she was given money.

The owners did not see any children with her and the different addresses she gave where her utilities will be disconnected at do not exist.
