Announcement
Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing the following closings and adjusted hours for City Offices during the upcoming Holiday week:
• City Hall
In observance of the Christmas holiday, City Hall offices will be closing at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday December 24th and will remain closed until Monday, December 28th. For the New Year’s holiday, City Hall offices will be closing at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31st and will remain closed until Monday, January 4th.
• Sanitation Sanitation crews will not collect refuse on Friday, December 25th or Friday, January 1st. Residents with Friday sanitation service are asked to have collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28th and Monday, January 4th. Crews will collect both Friday and Monday’s refuse on each Monday (If weather does not permit collection of both days refuse, collection could extend into Tuesday.). Sanitation crews will also begin collecting live Christmas trees on December 28th. Live Christmas trees should be placed at curbside on the resident’s garbage day. Residents are asked to NOT wrap trees in plastic, as City crews will chip the trees at curbside for two weeks following Christmas.
• Recreation Recreation Center hours, for youth ages 18 and younger, during the holiday week are as follows:
December 24th 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
December 25th Closed
December 26th & 27th 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
December 28th - 30th Normal hours (10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
December 31st 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
January 1st Closed
• Senior Center The Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, December 24th, Friday, December 25th, Thursday, December 31st and Friday, January 1st.
• Transit Marion Area Transit will have buses in operation until 12:00 p.m. on December 24th and will then be closed on December 25th. On December 31st, buses will operate until 12:00 p.m. and will then be closed on January 1st.
Necessary services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.
