The Ohio State University at Marion
The Marion County Chapter of the American Red Cross has awarded The Ohio State University at Marion with a citation for “demonstrating exceptional community leadership” through the institution’s support of the Chapter and its programs.
In presenting the award at a ceremony on campus, Tarina Rose – the Chapter’s executive director – acknowledged Ohio State Marion’s involvement with Red Cross at many levels over the past year. “You’ve participated in our blood program by hosting a series of successful drives. You’ve helped us prepare students and staff to respond to emergencies through our health and safety training. You’ve collected items to send to local military personnel serving overseas and contributed funds to defray the cost of shipping packages to those individuals. You’ve also assisted the Chapter financially through your generous support of the United Way campaign and our annual Radiothon, and by purchasing Red Cross health and safety equipment. All of this helps further the work of the Red Cross in our community.”
Offering complete majors in six areas of study and classes that can apply to 170 Ohio State undergraduate degree programs, The Ohio State University at Marion currently serves an estimated 1,800 students.
The American Red Cross – Marion County Chapter – partners with United Way of Marion County to offer programs that address disaster planning, prevention and response. The local Red Cross also provides programs and services that enhance public health and safety, and that assist hometown military personnel and their families.
