Community Clean-Up Day

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that the City of Marion will sponsor a Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday, May 31, 2008.

Any City of Marion resident, currently on City Sanitation Service, wishing to dispose of unwanted items may do so by taking those items directly to the Marion County Solid Waste Transfer Station located at 1564 Victory Road (directly east of Marion Correctional Institute). Proof of current City Sanitation Service will be required.

Hours of operation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Yard Waste, Appliances, Tires, Regular Garbage, or Hazardous Materials WILL NOT be accepted.

The Mayor reminds City residents that this drop off is free.

For questions on acceptable items, please contact the City Sanitation and Streets Department at(740) 382-1479.
