City Mosquito Fogging
Weather conditions permitting (wind/rain) fogging for mosquitoes is scheduled city wide for Thursday August 28th, and Friday 29th at dusk. Residents should make sure windows are closed and consider bringing pets indoors.

The Marion County Chapter of the American Red Cross has awarded The Ohio State University at Marion with a citation for “demonstrating exceptional community leadership” through the institution’s support of the Chapter and its programs.

Help available in preparing for college entrance exams
The I Can Center of Excellence, a regional college access program, will host SAT and ACT workshops to help students prepare for these important college entrance exams.
According to organizers, students who prepare for the SAT and ACT improve their scores significantly.
The first sessions will focus on the SAT prep, including sessions on test taking strategies, practice tests, and test preparation. The second workshop session will focus on the ACT prep, and also includes sessions on test taking strategies, practice tests, and test preparation.
SAT workshops will be held Saturday, September 13, 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. ACT workshops will be held on Saturday, September 27, 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. more...

Andy Harper MTC Scholarship Fund Established At MCF
Andy Harper, Vice President of Student Services and Institutional Advancement at Marion Technical College, has established a scholarship fund for non-traditional students attending MTC, announces Marion Community Foundation president Brad Bebout. By definition, non-traditional students are those who are at least 25 years of age when beginning college. Harper has further designated the scholarship as one which will support students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college.
