The Ohio State University at Marion
College Night anticipates over 800 seeking higher education
Area high school students from central and north central Ohio, parents, and other interested adults are invited to attend the 33rd annual Marion Area College Night, Monday, October 13, 2008, 6:30-8 p.m. in the George H. Alber Student Center on the Marion campus.
The event, which is co-sponsored by The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College (MTC) each year focuses on connecting prospective college students and their parents from central and north central Ohio counties with a multitude of higher education opportunities.
Jane Galyk, MTC assistant director of admission, and Matt Moreau, Ohio State Marion’s director of enrollment management, plan the annual event in conjunction with area high school guidance counselors.

Charity Dinner Theatre
The Steve Hill State Farm Insurance Agency is pleased to announce Can-Orama, a charitable dinner theatre to benefit the Operation Community Spirit food drive in conjunction with national Make a Difference Day.
The dinner show will feature fine food and many of Marion’s finest performers. The Ohio State University at Marion Five Nights on Campus series welcomes Bob Ford & The Ragamuffins to Morrill Hall Auditorium, Thursday, October 9, 7:30 p.m.
Ford began his music career as a freelance artist in 1994 and added the Ragamuffins to the group in the last two years, but according to Ford some people close to him would point to a much earlier start to his career. more...

Science Café explores The Prairies of Marion County
The Ohio State University at Marion invites the community to the Infinity Restaurant in the historic Harding Hotel, 267 West Center Street, downtown Marion, for a free monthly community dialogue on science entitled, Science Café, Tuesday, October 7, 7 p.m.
The restaurant will have plenty of fine food and drink for sale. We begin at 7:00 p.m. but arrive earlier for dinner. Our Science Cafés feature a lively conversation with a scientist about current science topics. At a Science Café you can learn about the latest issues in science, chat with a scientist in plain language, meet new friends, speak your mind, and talk with your mouth full.
