Marion Community Foundation Awards $548,200 in Grants

MARION, OHIO – Marion Community Foundation is awarding $548,200 this year from its 2018 Community Grants Program. These funds will help support 36 programs at Marion area nonprofit organizations.

City of Marion Closings for President’s Day Holiday

Mayor Schertzer is announcing that in observance of the President’s Day holiday, offices in City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2017. The following departments will operate as noted below:

– Sanitation crews will collect garbage and recycling on Monday, February 20. Residents normally having refuse collected on Mondays are requested to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m.

Whirlpool Corporation created a new scholarship fund at Marion Community Foundation

MARION, OH – Following on the heels of its wind turbine project announcement, Whirlpool Corporation has created a new scholarship fund at Marion Community Foundation to support STEM education for Marion area students. According to Dean Jacob, President and CEO of Marion Community Foundation, Whirlpool Corporation has created this new non-endowed scholarship fund in conjunction with One Energy LLC, the company installing the new wind turbines at Whirlpool’s Marion Operation.
