Rosa & Rocco’s Golf Outing With Proceeds to Benefit United Way

Calling all golfers. On Monday, August 4th at the Marion Country Club (2415 Crissinger Road, Marion, Ohio), Rosa & Rocco’s is hosting a golf outing to benefit United Way of Marion County. Lunch starts at noon, followed by a 1:00pm shotgun start. A steak dinner, prizes, raffles and live entertainment will follow at Rosa & Rocco’s. St. Mary’s Vacation Bible School Information

MARION – St. Mary Parish is offering a uniquely Catholic perspective for its Vacation Bible School program this summer. July 27-31, the volunteer-led program will focus on one of the most beloved and traditional forms of Catholic prayer, the Rosary.

Local EFSP Board Taking Applications for Federal Funds

MARION – United Way of Marion County, the local administrative agent for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), announced today that Marion County will receive $23,215 in federal funding this year to supplement emergency food and shelter programs.

Local agencies that provide such services wishing to apply for funding from Marion County’s EFSP Board will need to submit an application on or before Monday, July 14, 2014. To be eligible, an agency must: 1) be a private voluntary non-profit or a unit of government, 2) have an accounting system, 3) practice non-discrimination, 4) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 5) if a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board.… Read More


City of Marion Yard Waste Pick-up

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that weekly collection of yard waste at curbside is returning as a service of the Sanitation and Streets Department and will begin on Monday, May 5, 2014. Curbside pick up for yard waste generally occurs on the day following each resident’s regular trash collection day (example: Friday trash pick-up-Monday yard waste pick up). With limited personnel, this schedule may vary. Please note that residents on the City’s “Pink Sign Program” as the result of a currently delinquent sanitation and sewer account are not eligible for curbside pick-up of yard waste.… Read More
