Street Closures for Popcorn Festival Announced

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 6, detours will begin being posted on the following streets in the downtown Marion area to accommodate activities for the Marion Popcorn Festival, which will be held September 8-10.

Johnny Steiner Concert August 6th and 7th At Otterbein University

Performer Johnny Steiner is a favorite throughout central Ohio. Known for his singing voice and clever wit, Steiner hails from Green Camp and is a graduate of Elgin High School in Marion County. On August 6 and 7, Steiner will once again hit the stage at his college alma mater, Otterbein University. The concert is called LUCK, and features songs from Broadway shows of the 1950s.

City Departments Closed in Observance of Independence Day Monday July 4th

Mayor Scott Schertzer is announcing that city departments will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 4, 2016.

Departments in City Hall will be closed on July 4. Offices will re-open for normal business on Tuesday, July 5.

The Sanitation department will not collect trash, recycling, or yard waste on Monday, July 4. Residents who normally have sanitation service on Monday are asked to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m.… Read More


2016 Community Grants Program Applications Period Open

MARION – Marion Community Foundation’s 2016 Community Grants Program application period is open. This year approximately $450,000 is available for local charities and nonprofit organizations serving the Marion area. Applications are available online with a deadline of July 21.
