HOPE

 “Hope is . . .

Wishing a wish that might come true

Finding the answer you want

Asking for something you want

Praying for a wish

Wanting an answer

Going the distance for someone you love

Trying even though you know it may come out bad

Feeling the sun touch your skin

Praying for an answer

Loving yourself”

-          Joshua Diamond

“Hope is . . .

Being able to believe everything’s going to be alright when you know it isn’t

Having the courage to go to a new place with new people ready to succeed no matter what happens

Waiting for something special no matter how long it takes

Believing everyone will succeed in life no matter what their position is

Like guardian angels, it is with you everywhere you go, and everything you do.

Trying your best until you succeed.”

-          Liz Warner

“Hope is . . .

Hope is the only cloud in the sky

Hope is going on another day

Not knowing what is going to happen

Hope is a wish on a starless night

            Hope is a dreamless night

Hope is a store in a ghost town

Hope is a tree in an empty field

Hope is a river that might flood

Hope is a ship discovering land

            Hope is an overcome goal

Hope is not settling for what you have”

-          Joey Russell

Joey wrote this on Tuesday, 9/14/99, and we selected several to post on this site on Thursday, 9/16/99. Sadly, Joey was killed in an accident on Friday, 9/17/99.

“Hope is scoring a game winning touchdown

finding a long lost friend

getting an A on a big test

waking up  to a new day

trying over and over again

not saying I quit

taking a risk and succeeding

doing something people said can’t be done”

-          Jimmy Davis

“Hope Is . . .

. . . being able to make it through another day

. . . seeing the little sport of life that wills you to get up in the morning for another    day

. . . that you will make it to the next day

. . . learning to live with what you have

. . . accepting what you have and what you don’t

. . . being able to make it through life’s little problems

. . . deciding what is right and wrong

. . . doing the right thing in a bad situation

. . . seeing what no one else can see”

-          Scott Dripps

“Hope is a gift we give ourselves, and it remains when all else is gone “

        Naomi Judd

I believe this quote tells the truth about what hope truly is, and means.  You may not  have a family, money, or a home but you always have hope to lift your spirits up.  Only we can give ourselves hope, not the person beside us or across the world.  So like she said, it is a gift we give ourselves.  She tells it the way it is and always will be.”

-          Liz Gracely

”All human wisdom is summed up in two words – wait and hope”

        Alexandra Dumas

“I disagree with Alexandra Dumas’ quote, “All human wisdom is summed up in two words – wait and hope.”  I disagree with it because you shouldn’t sit around and wait and hope.  I think of hope as goals you want to succeed in, and you can’t do that if you are waiting.  You have to get up and go make your hopes, your goals, happen.”

-          Michael Dutton

"This quote is wrong.  If you hope for something and with all your heart want it to come true you can’t wait for hope.  You can’t think that hope eill take care of everything.   That is our world’s disease.  We wait for someone or something else to take care of our problems.  We have to take action, help hope.  Hope isn’t a solitary game.  It takes more than just hope.  Hope gives you the determination, the will, and the heart but hope needs help too.  That’s why you can’t wait and hope because all human wisdom is more than that.  One word of the statement is true, and that’s hope, but waiting.  What good is waiting if nothing is coming?”

-          Kelli Ciola

”Hope is the pillar that holds up the world.  Hope is the dream of a waking man.”

-          Pling the Elder

I like this quote because it is so old and yet people can still understand it and still get what it means.  It is a cool quote because it is true and from 2000 years ago.  It is true because hope is held uplike by pillars and is high in the world.”

-          Samantha Bentley

”Never let hope elude you.  That is life’s biggest fumble” – Bob Zuppke

Hope is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.  If you let hope go, you have nothing to live for.  Even if you have trouble socializing you still have hope, and that is one of the best qualities in life.”

-          David Creviston

”Hope is a gift we give ourselves, and it remains when all else is gone.”

-          Naomi Judd

Naomi Judd describes Hope as being a memory.  I like the quote because it is warming and makes me feel better in the heart.  It makes me feel good because my uncle is in the hurricane right now.  It brings back the memories that I have had.  It will help me get through the good and bad times.”

-          Scott Faust

“Hope is an echo, hope ties itself yonder, yonder” – Carl Sandburg

I agree with Carl when he says this mostly because I understand what it is saying.  It’s saying (in my words) you get your hopes up over and over.   The echo is for you for things.  So when you put it together it means “ You hope for a lot of things, over and over , but sometimes they don’t come true.”

-          Laura A. Greene

“Hope is a risk that must be run.” – George Bernanas

I agree with him because, when you hope too high and think it’s not high, your heart can be broken. So you must risk the run. And not hope too high, in the risk of getting your heart broken.”

-          Abby Hildreth

”Hope is the pillar that holds up the world.  Hope is the dream of a waking man.”

-Pling the Elder

I really agree and comprehend this quote.  I believe that it is saying that the whole world relies on hope, whether they realize it or not.  It’s also saying that hope will always be there to guide you through.  Also, that whenever you need a little hope, it’ll always be there, no matter what.”

-          Kandace Harris

”Never let hope elude you.  That is life’s biggest fumble” – Bob Zuppke

If you let hope elude you, you might as well give up and just sit in your chair and die.  If you have hope, that is what carries you on throughout your life and everyday.”

Josh Huctt

“Hope, like faith, is nothing if it is not courageous” – Thorton Wilder

“Hope doesn’t necessarily need to have courage to be, it just is.  Hope is something that someone hangs onto for support, wishing for something to happen or not to happen.  Hope can be stronger than life itself.”
