The Loudenslager Agricultural Leadership Scholarship recently awarded two scholarships for local students to attend the National FFA’s Washington Leadership Conference July 12-17 in Washington D.C.
This year’s Marion area recipients are Kaylie Long from Ridgedale FFA and Josh Strine from the River Valley FFA. Long and Strine will spend five days in the Nation’s Capital learning effective leadership by exploring their purpose, how to value people, and how to actively serve others.
The Washington Leadership Conference will give FFA members the knowledge and confidence to act in ways that help their schools, community and country. The capstone event is a civic engagement activity where participants apply what they have learned with a hand-on service activity.
